PS3 network stopped working out of the blue

So tonight my PS3 decides to stop connecting to the internet. It can get an IP over wifi and wired and can be pinged. Yet it cannot connect no matter what I try. Everything else is working as normal on my network, laptops, voip, fileservers, you name it, just not the PS3.

During my searches for various phrases like the error code 80710092, or obtain ip address succeeded internet connection failed, I run across a lot of suggestions, most of them explaining how to connect a PS3 to a network, which I clearly know how to do. But one post stands out, the post said that you might have a banned PS3. This post totally freaks me out because I’ve done nothing other than watch movies and play exactly two games on my PS3.

Auto-play ads with sound suck

In general I find auto-play ads annoying but especially so when they auto-play with sound.

Today I opened my browser and while opening several tabs I was blasted with “Do you want to go to space…”. After quickly lowering my volume I started closing out tabs to see which one it was in. I assumed it must be an ad in one of the tabs I had recently opened, so I started with those. Alas the old adage yet again proved true, it was in the last place I looked, and the last place I would have thought to look, my RSS reader.

I’m really trying to be a good web citizen and not install an ad blocker, like everyone else on the planet, but it’s close to being enough.

Apparently there are quite a few others who feel similarlly.

Stupid WordPress, HTML means HTML!

Dear WordPress,

How is it that you can do so many things simply and elegantly yet get other things so horribly wrong? When I click the HTML editor tab I expect that you would trust that I know what I’m doing and not alter my code. Yet you do. Why oh why do you?
